Alex Chalk MP giving a welcoming address at the  Reception “Treasure” exhibition 24 April 2016

Exhibiting the work of our members is a key element of our Mission and Aims.

Through exhibitions we widen interest in contemporary Christian art, we challenge artists to produce new work to a set theme and we facilitate peer review through the selection and discussion of work.

In 2006 several members exhibited in Westminster Cathedral's "Christ Among Us" Summer Festival, and its sequel held in Bristol in 2007.

Two large exhibitions were held at Southwell Minster, near Nottingham, in November 2008, and at St Mary's Church, Bury St Edmunds in April 2010. The themes of these exhibitions were "Christ the King" at Southwell, and "Resurrection" at Bury St Edmunds. Works from those exhibitions also travelled on to the Ammerdown Conference and Retreat Centre near Bath for several months.

Christian Arts held an exhibition on the theme of “Christmas” in the Chapter House of Southwell Minster from the 12 December 2011 to 6 January 2012. Over the Christmas period the Minster welcomed 12,000 visitors.

A major exhibition was held in the Chapter House of Wells Cathedral from the 7 to 21 September 2012 on the theme “Heaven on earth”. Follow this link to a page with images from the exhibition.

We exhibition of work inspired by the writings of John Donne in two central London churches in 2014.

Our 2016 exhibition on the theme of “Treaure” was held in   Cheltenham during the Christian Arts Festival..

The “Treasure” exhibition including work not shown in Cheltenham will be shown in Worcester Cathedral in the autumn of 2017

Of course many of our members exhibit widely - locally, nationally and internationally. We keep in touch with these exhibitions through this web site but we also plan to create a Facebook group.

The Christian Arts Annual Conference is an important feature of our programme. It provides an opportunity for artists to meet and to build networks and to exhibit recent work. It also facilitates study, discussion and reflection through carefully selected conference themes.

The 2017 Conference was held in High Leigh in May - see the News pages for details.
