The CA Conference 2017

5 - 7 May High Leigh Conference Centre

This year’s Conference and AGM was held in a new venue for us - chosen to be more central and convenient for travelling by car our public transport.

Our speaker, Sophie Hacker, graduated from the Slade School of Art in 1989. Her work is in public and private collections across the UK and abroad, and used regularly in publications.

Sophie Hacker has been working as a professional artist for over twenty five years, with a particular interest in using the visual arts to explore and communicate the Christian faith.  She teaches and lectures regularly around the country and runs residential art courses whilst continuing her practice in stained glass, ecclesiastical textiles, painting and sculpture.

Recent commissions include an artistic, musical and poetic collaboration inspired by the music of Olivier Messiaen, and two new stained glass windows for a church in St Albans Diocese, due for completion in early 2017.

Sophie is also Arts and Exhibitions Consultant to Winchester Cathedral and an active member of ACE Trust.
